Our enterprise
When Ferdinand Kloer Sr started growing vegetables outside in cold frames in his agricultural enterprise in 1913, he laid the foundation of the steady growth of the horticultural enterprise Kloer. In 1930 Johann Kloer took over the firm. When his son Ferdinand succeeded him in 1970, they went over to the production of ornamental plants. Since 1998 the enterprise has been run by Johannes Kloer.
Today 24000 m² are in use for the cultivation of plants, including bedding and pot plants, perennials, grasses and plants for biomass. In addition several other plants are produced on demand of our customers, including half-grown plants and plants in full bloom.
W are specialised in ‘Powerplugs’, viz young plants from seed.
Our modern greenhouses are equipped with conveyor belts, automatic protective screens and watering as well as assimilation lighting. Air conditioning and watering are computerized and our production department works with modern sowing machines. Fully automatic filling machines are used to provide uniform and complete trays. Our well-trained team continuously guarantees excellent quality.
The Powerplug assortment has been composed in close collaboration with Rudy Raes Bloem-zaden N.V. All the varieties have been selected and inspected in Belgium both under glass and in the trial field.
